Introducing a new method, Decodebits has worked with a significant corporate entity to switch a traditional streamlined business card into an engaging business card with AR integration. Through the incorporation of micro-augmented reality, these new business cards consist of more than static contact details on the card, but they also serve other features supplementary connectivity tools, and media content. This change has rapidly and positively transformed professional connections, enriched the communication of information, and had a deep strike on the business partners.
In this case study, we have gone a little deeper to explore the relationship between Decodebits and a corporate enterprise that decided to turn business cards into digital AR-integrated business cards. This project was set to transform the conventional paper business cards by adding AR elements, and consequently increase the efficiency of exchanging contact information among industry workers. The strengths here are brought about by the creation of digital AR business cards as a future and even interactive business networking toolset for the foregoing modern digital business domain.
However, the conventional business cards are known to have the following disadvantages; The ability to print only limited information, content that is fixed and unchangeable, and have to be manually keyed in. These often lead to leaving the cards in places such as a restaurant or in a wallet, along with the missed opportunities of strengthening friendship or business relations. Specifically, the problem was how one could design an improved, easier, faster, memorable method for name and contact details exchange between business-oriented individuals.
Digest working asked to develop digital augmented reality integrated business cards. These cards employ the implementation of augmented reality in which texts, videos, and images are placed on a tangible card that the customers can interact with resourcefully. Instant Virtual Content: The card can be easily installed by the user using his Smartphone where the customer gets to enjoy features like animated introduction messages, videos, hyperlinks to websites and social media profiles, and even a digital vCard.
The transformation of normal business cards into digital AR-integrated business cards undertook an assessment, development, integration, and deployment process to minimize the gap between the traditional and acceptance of the digital.
After reviewing the needs assessment tool, Decodebits evaluated the corporate enterprise needs to decipher the required details. This included understanding their current networking practices and other issues with conventional calling cards, as well as defining the specifications and attributes needed for the AR calling cards.
To enhance the viewings, our team created the app content, such as 3D animations and images, multimedia applications, and contact information. It was planned to upload this content in such a manner that it can be used by the people through their smartphone application and allow them to have a successful and joyful visit.
The following step entailed linking the buoy technology with actual business cards that both business entities and individuals could use. Since the cards are in an expandable and customizable format, we also used the modern kind of printing that incorporates some AR markers into the physical cards themselves.
Regarding the accessibility of AR business cards, much research was focused on the testing of its functionality in different devices. There was a testing phase for user trials to get the feedback and modify them accordingly. After optimization, the deployed business cards in the form of AR were distributed to the employees of the corporate enterprise along with the orientation sessions on how best to use it to the greatest advantage.
